Learning About Archery

One of the new skills we learned this year was archery. Several of the men took training courses so that they would be certified to teach our kids at camp. Chris was a pretty good shot.

Cameron, Cody, Nick, Lauren, Kaitlyn and Noel get ready to shoot.

Zipping Through the Trees

One of the highlights of camp is the ropes course. Campers can climb a rock wall, scale obstacles 50 feet in the air, and ride a zip line several hundred yards long through the trees.

Here, Kevrin is climbing the post that leads to the zip line.

Trey is headed to the top.

Trace has fun on the zip line.

Jacobe uses his climbing skills.

Cody flies through the air.

Goin' For a Canoe Ride

Our church had a opportunity to ride in the canoes right after lunch. We had a great time, but boy, was it hot! Here are just a few of the pictures from that day.

Bloggin' About Blobbin'

The Blob is one activity that all the kids look forward to at camp. One person sits on one end of the Blob (a giant pillow) while a second person dives onto the other end sending the first person flying into to air before hitting the water. The kids (and adults) have a blast on this one. Here is Collin getting blobbed.

Brandon is sent flying through the air.

Lauren B. gets in on the action. She gets points for style!

Jacobe takes the prize for the highest flyer.

Kallie gets in on the blobbing action.

Spending Time at the Pool

Preteen Camp was very hot, so we were glad to get to spend some time at the pool. Everyone wanted to dunk Mr. Jason. When we got out of the pool, his back looked like a tiger had torn him up.

Lauren R. and Lauren B. eventually came to Mr. Jason's rescue.

Nathan showed us all his tricks on the diving board. Everyone was a little sad because they had removed the high diving board from last year.

Cade and Brandon showed us their best dives as well.

Mrs. Sharon got to relax and enjoy the water while everyone else ganged up on Mr. Jason.

Day 2 and 3 at camp have been lots of fun. Chris enjoyed himself at the archery range.

Cameron took a ride on the zip line.

Jillian and Cody went for a canoe ride.

Jacoby went flying on the Blob.

Jesi learned to shoot a bow and arrow.

Everyone tried to drowned Mr. Jason.

So far, everyone is having a great time. We are making the most of our time here and a little sad that we have to come home tomorrow. More pictures will be coming soon.

Day 1 at Preteen Camp

Well, everyone arrived at camp safely. I was very excited to see those vans pull in to Trinity Pines.
The kids were pretty excited to be there also.

The boys moved into there room. This is certainly the cleanest it would be all week!

After unpacking, we met to go over the rules and look at our schedule. It's going to be a very busy week!

Today, we went swimming and canoeing and did the BLOB!

Be looking for a lot more pictures tomorrow. Camp is great! Thanks so much for sending your children. Please be in prayer for us as Pastor Scott teaches us in worship tonight. He will be giving the campers a chance to make a commitment to Christ.

Preparing for a Great Week at Camp

Hey Everyone! We have been having a great time at Preteen Camp this week, but it's just not the same without you here. I can't wait to see you on Wednesday. I thought I might like to see a few pictures of some things you have to look forward to.

We have added archery to our Church Family Fun & Game time each afternoon. We are also doing glow-in-the-dark dodgeball again.

You will have plenty of opportunities to go canoeing.

Trinity Pines has moved the blob to a new location and built a nice deck to jump off of. It's going to be lots of blobbing fun!!!

Everyone can enjoy sand dodgeball.

Hank Hough with Kingdom Dog Ministries will be sharing his love of dogs with us this year. He puts on a very exciting show. I know you are going to love it. Speaking of dogs, I thought you would also like to know that this session at camp we have a blind sponsor with a guide dog. (What a cool thing!)

Keep watching for more post as we prepare for Preteen Camp 2010. See you soon!

Time for Camp E.D.G.E. 2010

Hello Parents and Campers!

Well, it's that time again - time to get ready for Preteen Camp. I know that many of you who went with us last year have been counting down the days to this year's camp. I'm with you! I can't wait for camp to start.

We now have 17 boys and 7 girls along with 5 sponsors signed up for camp. Please be praying that God will work in a mighty way.

Everyone needs to get your forms filled out and to the church office this week. I want to have everything in order before I leave for camp on Saturday, July 9. As always, Mrs. Sharon will be in charge of getting everyone loaded onto the vans and to camp safely on Wednesday, July 14. Everyone will be meeting at the church at 11 am.

The theme this year is Camp E.D.G.E. We will be learning about:

Exploring God's Word,

Discovering God's Plan,

Growing in God's Goodness, and

Experiencing God's Ways.

Start getting your camping gear in order. I hope to see you at church Sunday.
